Since opening our doors more than three decades ago, The Trolley Depot has been a must-visit in historic Salem — and in 2015, we expanded to make even more room for our ever-growing collection of unique gifts and souvenirs.

In February 2026, we transformed the space into an immersive shopping experience inspired by the charm of a 1900's vintage trolley era. With classic station details, Salem character, and trolleys moving overhead, it’s a whole new way to experience one of Salem’s longtime souvenir shops.

Located at 191 Essex Street, on the corner of Essex and Central Streets, the Trolley Depot is a tourist information center and immersive gift shop in the heart of downtown Salem. Stop in for local event information, attraction recommendations, and Salem-inspired souvenirs.

Our February 2026 renovation reimagined the Trolley Depot as a vintage trolley station. From the moving trolleys overhead to the transit-inspired details throughout the shop, the space celebrates Salem's past while welcoming today's visitors.
